(Armeria maritima) A compact, low-growing perennial herb that forms a dense, mounded tuft of stiff, grass-like dark green leaves. Flowers pink to lavender in color. Sea Thrift is not very common in the Puget Sound region. It is typically found along coastal beaches, bluffs, and sometimes inland along river banks and grassy meadows. Great for edging, border fronts, rock gardens or wall pockets. Slow spread.
