Pink flowers in March and April
Red “berries” stay throughout winter
(Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) A mat-forming native evergreen shrub that produces lovely pink flowers in spring. After blooming, attractive red berries called drupes form and remain on the plant into winter and are consumed by several species of birds. This ground cover grows only up to 8″ inches tall, but can become quite dense through long, flexible branches. A good choice for dry places and for erosion control.
