Pacific Rhododendron (1-gal)

(Rhododendron macrophyllum) Of the 1,200 species of rhododendron, just five are native to the Pacific Northwest. Commonly found along roadsides in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, the Pacific Rhododendron is the state flower of Washington State. This rhody has thick, leathery and oblong leaves with pink (sometimes white) bell-shaped flowers borne in showy clusters called trusses. Excellent in both wild settings and more traditional landscapes, Pacific Rhododendron is also useful for erosion control.
